VSB combines repowering and hybridisation in the Löberitz project to accelerate expansion in Europe

20.03.2026 | Dresden (renewablepress) - With today’s groundbreaking ceremony for the Löberitz wind farm in Saxony-Anhalt, the VSB Group is consistently advancing its European growth strategy: repowering existing sites combined with hybrid generation structures at a shared grid connection point. The project replaces five existing turbines with three wind turbines of the type Vestas V172-7.2. Installed capacity will increase from 4.25 MW to 21.6 MW. The expected annual energy yield is around 65.7 GWh – almost a tenfold increase compared to previous electricity production.
