KGAL acquires another wind farm from WKN

• Dargies wind farm in France currently under construction

Husum - The Husum project developer WKN AG has sold the rights for the Dargies wind farm in France with an overall output of 12 megawatts to the KGAL Group headquartered in Grünwald near Munich. The construction of the six Enercon E82-type turbines, each with an output of 2.0 megawatts and a hub height of 78 metres, is now being accompanied by WKN AG on behalf of the investor. The commissioning of the French wind farm is scheduled for July 2014. Road construction was already launched in September.

The expected annual electricity production is about 30 gigawatt hours. After its commissioning, the wind farm developed by WKN will provide more than 6,000 French households with green electricity.

The town of Dargies is situated in the Picardie region in the north of France. Udo Follrichs, Senior Vice President of Sales & Purchasing at WKN AG says: “Cooperation with the community and the property owners was excellent. The fact that there were no objections to the project from the citizens was rather unusual for the French market and therefore very pleasing. This is a sign for us that we were able to optimally integrate the needs of the local citizens in the planning of the wind farm.” A further plus factor of the Dargies project is the comparatively close grid connection.

At the beginning of 2013, KGAL had already acquired the turnkey Hollige wind farm from the Husum-based project developer. WKN AG has now taken over the site management for the Dargies project as the general contractor on behalf of the investor. Martinus Scherweit, CEO of WKN AG, comments: “Of course, we are delighted that we have been able to conclude another contract with KGAL.”

KGAL GmbH & Co. KG has been initiating and accompanying long-term real investments with lasting and stable revenues for more than 40 years. Its range of services comprises the conception and management of selected retail funds and funds for institutional investors as well as investment solutions for family offices and foundations.
