Surprise increase in the business climate index of the renewable energy industry
Münster (Germany) - The mood in the renewable energy sector in Germany took another big lift in July 2006. The business climate index of the International Economic Platform for Renewable Energies (Internationales Wirtschaftsforum Regenerative Energien, IWR), Münster, after having fallen in the previous month, rose to 110.7 points in July (June: 102.3 points). Compared to the previous month of June, the companies, above all, perceived their current economic situation as significantly better. Contrarily, the prospects for the next six months remained unchanged from the previous month. “It is pleasing that the current favorable business situation leads to more jobs in the companies”, said the IWR Director Dr. Norbert Allnoch. More than half the renewable energy sector companies who were asked said they want to hire extra staff, according to the IWR.
