ProfEC Ventus expands portfolio by further remote sensing devices for accredited wind measurement campaigns according to MEASNET, IEC und FGW

As a Vaisala TIER 3 service partner, ProfEC Ventus now also carries out maintenance and repairs of several RSD devices.

Oldenburg (renewablepress) - ProfEC Ventus GmbH from Oldenburg has expanded its portfolio of hardware and services offered in the „One Stop Wind Shop“ (shop for wind measurement technology, wind measurement masts, remote sensing devices and accredited services) by a wide range of remote sensing services and devices like SODAR and LIDAR.

At https://shop.profec-ventus.com in the category RSD, customers can now find a wide selection of RSD products, for example proven models of LIDAR and SODAR remote-sensing devices offered for rent, with or without an option to later buy the device. In addition ProfEC Ventus offers the certified "surveying" of measurement locations, where the remote sensing device is validated by means of an in-situ reference mast. Afterwards, for a large-scale site survey, the RSD can change the measuring position several times within a few months. In this way, expenses for further measuring masts can be saved and at the same time the remote sensing device is bank-compliant validated in accordance with IEC 61400-12-1 Ed. 2, MEASNET - Evaluation of Site Specific Wind Conditions V.2 and FGW TR6. Rev.10 - Determination of Wind Potential and Energy Yields.

ProfEC Ventus also offers intensive advice and support for the design of sophisticated measurement campaigns (cost-saving potentials, technology, duration, recommended redundancies, Monitoring etc.) especially in complex terrain.

ProfEC Ventus offers a competitive concept for commissioning as well as the maintenance and operation of RSD. Costs further increase if a local technician cannot find or fix the problem immediately and multiple travels to the site become necessary. And since the devices need to be made operational as quickly as possible to minimize measurement data gaps, the customer often swallows the bitter pill and accepts relatively high costs even for small error fixing only. Therefore, we also offer full maintenance solutions that exclude any hidden or unknown operating costs for our customers. If necessary, our engineers travel with the necessary spare parts kit and bring the system back into operation instantaneously. "

For this reason, ProfEC Ventus now is officially a TIER 3 certified service partner of Vaisala (Vaisala is the world's leading manufacturer of remote sensing devices of the trademarks "TRITON” (Secondwind) as well as "Windcube & Wind Iris” (Leosphere)".

"This not only authorizes us to commission diverse remote sensing devices, but also to maintain and repair them. Corresponding spare parts and consumables from our stock are provided accordingly," says Andreas Jansen, Managing Director at ProfEC Ventus.

RSD-based wind measurement campaigns by ProfEC Ventus Measuring Institute are certified and recognized worldwide. "Our RSD measurement campaigns are backed by a bankability certificate, which confirms compliance with relevant norms and standards and is thus accepted by virtually all banks worldwide," explains Jansen, "are saving the customer a lot of time and money." To comply with all requirements of the FGW Technical Guideline 6, only wind measurement stations and campaigns shall be be used, which have been assessed and evaluated by an accredited testing laboratory. Furthermore, it is always important to pay close attention to authenticity and integrity of data and data traffic. In case of RSD, validation of the devices must be considered, which ProfEC Ventus ideally surveys at the measurement location by means of a reference measurement mast.

Appraisals of this quality are a prerequisite for banks and investors for (re-)financing of existing or planned wind farm projects, especially in Germany, and are also indispensable for portfolio sales.

At the same time clients can also view and request numerous, accredited services at the One Stop Wind Shop. "Here, however, we initially offer more detailed advice already during the quotation phase, in order to precisely assess the individual requirements and the required data basis, based on which we then provide the customer with a tailor-made, cost-efficient quotation matching his needs," says Mathias Hölzer, Managing Director and Technical Director of the Testing and Calibration Laboratory.

"If during the process of new project development the chain of work and appraisals carried out by accredited testing laboratories is interrupted, in the worst case processes have to be repeated," Hölzer warns. "This can be a considerable cost, e.g. for repeating site visits and data validation regarding integrity and authenticity, and slows down the process of report preparation. This requirement is obsolete, based on our construction reports and certificates for compliance with all relevant standards and standards, as each other accredited testing laboratory worldwide subsequently is permitted relying on our accredited reports, certificates and (construction) reports," adds Hölzer.
