Muenster - After a poor showing filled with a sharp drop in prices over the last three years, the “green” stocks managed to rebound in the trading year that was 2013. The IWR, a renewable energy institute, reported that the RENIXX World (Renewable Energy Industrial Index) was quoted at 320.11 points at year-end, up 89.8 percent on the previous year (168.69 points). In 2012, the RENIXX fell 30 percent; in 2011 the loss amounted to 54 percent.

Trailing close behind were the wind energy manufacturers Vestas (Denmark, +390 percent) and Gamesa (Spain, +327 percent). Shares of the German wind turbine manufacturer Nordex rose 219 percent.
