OSTWIND is coming to Husum in the form of an \"AG\" and with 1,000 MW

- The Regensburg-based company group will be present at HUSUM WindEnergy 2012 with a large stand, international guests, a wide programme of events – and as a vocal proponent of expanding onshore wind power


Regensburg - HUSUM WindEnergy 2012, the wind sector’s most important trade fair and a meeting point for those involved in renewable energies around the world, will take place from 18th to 22nd September. Following its tradition, OSTWIND, the medium-sized company group based in Regensburg, Strasbourg, and Prague, will once more be represented, with a large stand, international guests, and a high-calibre programme of events. However, the company will also be presenting itself at Husum with an entirely new structure.

That is because OSTWIND wishes to continue to help shape the pending transformation of our energy sector as an independent family-owned company. With a new management team, new employees, an additional new office in Duisburg, new collaborations, and new target regions, the energy transition in Germany is to be provided with the necessary fair wind. The ambitious international expansion targets for France and the Czech Republic remain in place.

OSTWIND AG, which functions as the holding company for the company group, will be presenting itself for the first time in Husum. The restructuring as an Aktiengesellschaft (the German equivalent of a PLC) and the concomitant increase in equity is to be read as a further sign that the company, with its project portfolio of around 1,000 MW at present, is approaching the coming challenges with courage and optimism.

\"We are doing this in the firm conviction that onshore wind energy can be the most cost-effective and efficient replacement to atomic energy – if stable framework conditions are provided. With the help of wind power, we can then all benefit from winning energy, as our motto for this year’s trade fair promises\", explained Gisela Wendling-Lenz and Ulrich Lenz, who comprise the Managing Board of OSTWIND AG, at the start of Husum WindEnergy 2012.

At the centre of this year’s trade fair programme at the OSTWIND stand in Hall 8, stand no. B17 are six topic-based forums:
- The winds of change – The energy question between yesterday and tomorrow
- New energy and the law – Current legal aspects of wind energy
- A fresh wind – France forum in collaboration with the Coordination Centre for
Renewable Energies
- The country needs new grids – Problems and solutions for expanding power grids
- New added value from wind power – Outlook for the German Renewable Energy
Act (EEG) and market integration
- Fukushima and the consequences – Energy transition without borders.

On Saturday, as part of HUSUM Windcareer, there will also be information provided on current job profiles and vacancies at OSTWIND. You can find the whole trade fair programme online at www.ostwind.de.


An overview of OSTWIND
