μ-Sen have signed a framework agreement with Nordex AG - Remote diagnosis of Wind Turbines in Europe creates higher yield and security

Rudolstadt - μ-Sen has signed a contract with Nordex AG, Norderstedt for remote diagnosis of Wind Turbines in France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece and Turkey.

The remote service of the μ-Sen currently monitors more than 600 Wind Turbines with outputs ranging from 250 kW to 5 MW and from a variety of manufacturers. With the signing of the agreement the number of Wind Turbines monitored by µ-Sen is expected to exceed the threshold of 1000 in 2009.

"We want to strengthen our established position in the supervision of plant equipment using Condition Monitoring systems with the expansion in the business sector - remote service", said Michael Gräf, Head of the CM Service Department at μ-Sen.

In addition, the company has plans for a representative’s office in France in 2009. "This step will also show our customers in other European countries that we are keen to have a local presence", said Holger Fritsch, Approved Signatory at μ-Sen, to reinforce the significance of this undertaking.

"The challenges in Europe are demanding, and vary greatly from country to country. But with a proven Condition Monitoring system and an integrated service concept, we support manufacturers as well as operators on-site", added Dr. Steffen Biehl, Director of μ-Sen.

About the μ-Sen GmbH:

μ-Sen established themselves in 2001 as a solution provider of early failure detection for Wind Turbines. Since then, CM systems from μ-Sen, which are certified by Germanischer Lloyd as well as others, have been integrated into the drive trains of numerous onshore and offshore Wind Turbines. The CM remote service from μ-Sen is also currently being certified by Germanischer Lloyd. This significant step documents the high levels of CM monitoring quality which have already been achieved by μ-Sen

Nordex's profile:

As one of the technologically leading supplier of megawatt turbines Nordex benefits greatly from the global trend toward larger plant equipment. The product range extends up to a series of the largest Wind Turbines in the world (N80/N90/N100 2,500 kW), more than 1,000 of these turbines have been produced to date. This means that in comparison to most competitors in its sector, Nordex has a crucial advantage of experience in operating large plant equipment. Nordex has installed a total of more than 3,400 plants worldwide with a capacity of more than 4,200 MW. Nordex AG also has a strong position in the international growth regions with an export share of over 95 percent.
