Sulzemoos, 26 October 2006 / Phönix SonnenStrom AG (ISIN DE000A0BVU93), one of the leading photovoltaic system integrators, with pan-European operations, continues to adjust its corporate structure to accommodate the expansion of the company and the increasing requirements of the capital market.

With effect from 1 January 2007, Sabine Kauper has been appointed Chief Financial Officer of Phönix SonnenStrom AG for a period of five years. She will be responsible for accounting, controlling, treasury, law and contracts as well as personnel. Ms Kauper, who is 38 and has a degree in business administration, has been with Phönix SonnenStrom AG since July 2000 and, in her capacity of an authorised representative of the company, has built up these areas in the company. The adjustment of internal structures and processes to the developments of a company which is growing swiftly and the implementation of international capital market standards were among the main responsibilities of Ms Kauper.

Following her training in an auditing company with international business, Sabine Kauper studied business administration with electives in tax and auditing. At the same time, she gained additional practical experience in the implementation of controlling instruments. After successful completion of her degree course, she worked for an auditing company for four years and conducted many annual accounts audits for companies of varying sizes in different sectors.

Sabine Kauper is a member of the Board of Directors of Phoenix Energía Solar S.L.. She is also on the Supervisory Board of RED 2002 S.r.l, in which Phönix SonnenStrom AG holds a 49-percent stake.

With the appointment of Ms. Kauper to Chief Financial Officer, the Supervisory Board underlines the importance of the areas of finance and human resources.

In future, the Board of Directors of Phönix SonnenStrom AG will be made up of four members: Dr Andreas Hänel (CEO and Chairman of the Board), Manfred Bächler (CTO), Dr Murray Cameron (COO) and Sabine Kauper (CFO).

The Supervisory Board of Phönix Projekt & Service AG has also appointed a new member to the Board of Directors of the subsidiary company. Ralph Schneider (40), who holds a degree in business administration, has been appointed to the Board with effect from 1 November 2006. Mr Schneider, who has been with the company since 1 March 2006, will be responsible for the operations of the company, together with Dr Torsten Hass, formerly the company’s only board member. With these two managers at the helm, the company has paved the way for expansion and the increasing internationalisation of large-scale projects within the Phönix Group.

After having completed his training in a bank, Ralph Schneider finished his degree in business administration and became a student of the European Business School. In the course of his career he was also an employee in Group Audit which took him to a number of major German banks and investment companies where he was member of the management team. Ralph Schneider brings his expert knowledge of investment funds and project management to the company. Prior to joining Phönix Projekt & Service AG, he was managing director of a company belonging to the Royal Dutch Shell Group where part of his tasks included building up Projects / Economics / Investment as well being responsible for the realisation of a number of megawatt photovoltaic power plants.
