Kemberg wind farm has completed

Cuxhaven, 15. September 2005 – Plambeck Neue Energien AG has completed work on its wind farm in Kemberg (Saxony-Anhalt). 10 Type Nordex S 70 wind generators have been set up at the Kemberg site. These generators are fitted with highly efficient rotor blades produced by the Danish-based company SSP Technology A/S. All generators have a prop height of 85 metres. The rated output of the wind farm generators totals 15 MW.

Extensive preliminary work was required to enable the generators to be up and running on time. The deep foundations involved ramming pillars of a total length of 2,706 metres, and 267,000 kilos of armouring steel and 2,570 cubic metres of concrete were required.

To ensure both the electrical and data connections, around 6,000 metres of medium-voltage cable and 7,500 metres of data cable were laid. The external connection of the wind farm to the power net necessitated the running of roughly 13,500 metres of medium-voltage cable in two systems.

Work on the first wind power generator began on 14th July; the last of the ten wind power generators was completed on 9th September. All generators are now operational.

The Kemberg wind farm was acquired back in March by an internationally operating group of investors. The electricity generated from the environmentally friendly wind power can cover the annual requirements of approximately 10,000 average households.
