Heidelberg (renewablepress) - W Power Storage GmbH (“W Power Storage” or the “Company”) today announced the appointment of Dr. Martin Siddiqui as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). With his appointment, Dr. Siddiqui further strengthens the Company’s existing management team. The Company’s co-founders will continue in their executive roles, with Christian Dornisch as Chief Investment Officer (CIO), Tim Rosar as Chief Operating Officer (COO), and Christian Jochemich as Chief Growth Officer (CGO).

The incoming CEO, Dr. Martin Siddiqui, previously co-founder and CEO of Tion Renewables, brings extensive experience in scaling energy platforms as well as a strong track record of building operational and financial excellence. Commenting on his appointment, he described joining W Power Storage as “one of the most exciting entrepreneurial opportunities in Germany’s energy sector” and added that he was “deeply impressed by the strength of the pipeline and the team’s dedication, ambition, and winning mentality”.

Frank Heiss, Managing Director ICG Infrastructure and chairman of the W Power Storage supervisory board, commented: “We didn’t bring Martin on board to manage the status quo, but to scale what was built with speed, discipline, and ambition. He combines entrepreneurial instinct with a deep understanding of how complex energy platforms grow into category-leading businesses. Markus Wirth, Managing Director of Wirth Group and member of the W Power Storage supervisory board, added: “Martin’s strengths are a natural complement to the existing C-level team and significantly enhance our collective ability to further expand our pipeline while simultaneously building a scalable platform that moves decisively from development to execution.”

W Power Storage recently entered into a strategic partnership with the ICG European Infrastructure team, with plans to deploy up to €500 million to realize its multi-gigawatt battery energy storage system (BESS) project pipeline.

With access to strategic, long-term capital and a strengthened management team, W Power Storage benefits from strong momentum as it enters its next phase of growth and advances toward becoming a leading Independent Flexibility Provider (IFP) in Germany.
