Climate Saver - Champion Denmark Invites the World

- Copenhagen\'s energy fair ENERGY EUROPE 2013 has a lot of international support

Copenhagen, Ostenfeld - At the climate summit in Doha it became official: With position 4 Denmark is at the top within the international ranking of states that try to avoid CO2 emissions. Positions 1 and 3 were not awarded. In this context, Denmark is clearly ahead of Germany on position 8.

In this way, Denmark has now gained official recognition for its current bold energy policy and its clear political decision to end the use of fossil energy resources in Denmark completely by 2050. This will not only involve electricity but also heating and transportation as well as the whole industrial production sector.

Until 2020 already, the share of wind power in Denmark, the European country where the electricity for end customers is currently most expensive, is expected to double. With view to end energy consumption, the total share of renewable energies should then (in 2020) at least be 35 per cent.

Before 2014, when Copenhagen will be European Green Capital, next year will offer a special opportunity to take a closer look at the Danish energy turnaround and get involved in it.
The new all-energy and cleantech fair with its Energy Europe Conference that takes place in the Bella Center in Copenhagen from 23 to 25 May 2013 is an extensive product show for all forms of renewable energies and cleantech innovations.
More than 40 high-ranking, national and international energy associations support this event which is unique in Denmark and will take place every year from now on.

\"EREC is very pleased to support Energy Europe,\" says Rainer Hinrichs-Rahlwes, President of the European Renewable Energies Council, EREC.
\"Denmark is one of the home countries of renewable energies. Moreover, its current energy policies are on a successful track to establishing a climate-friendly full supply. Additionally, Denmark is a suitable host country for a major event that will focus on the Scandinavian and Eastern European energy markets in the upcoming year. Together with our Danish partners and the organisers of Energy Europe we invite the world to Copenhagen.\"

Jan Serup Hylleberg, CEO of the Danish Wind Industry Association (DWIA) confirms: \"The exchange of knowledge and experiences across industries and national borders can only make us wiser. ENERGY EUROPE is the ideal opportunity to present a broad range of new technologies - among them numerous innovations for wind energy.\"
