Executive MBA program in European Utility Management of Jacobs University Bremen will be transferred to the Diploma of Advanced Studies in Renewable Energy Management (REM-HSG) offered by the University of St.Gallen
Bremen/St. Gallen - The successful Executive MBA in European Utility Management of Jacobs University Bremen will be transferred to the Diploma of Advanced Studies in Renewable Energy Management offered by the University of St.Gallen. The cooperation of one of the leading European energy MBA programmes with the University of St.Gallen’s longstanding experience in executive education will offer a new opportunity for managers to prepare themselves in a professional and targeted way for the challenges that the energy market is currently facing.
\"Eight years after launching the Executive MBA in European Utility Management, we are excited to have secured a partnership with one of Europe’s most respected business schools\", said Prof. Dr. Andreas Bausch, who built up the programme at Jacobs University. \"Having already successfully collaborated with the University of St.Gallen’s Chair for Management of Renewable Energies, we are convinced that we have created a future oriented solution for executive education in the energy industry.\"
\"The decision taken by Jacobs University underlines that the modular structure of our executive education programmes is well in line with customer needs\", added Prof. Winfried Ruigrok, director of the University of St.Gallen’s Executive School. \"The diploma programme in Renewable Energy Management, launched in 2010, is a good example for how the University of St.Gallen addresses new management trends in areas of high societal relevance. In a second step, graduates of industry-specific diploma programmes have the possibility to continue studying towards the Executive MBA.\"
The Diploma of Advanced Studies (DAS) in Renewable Energy Management (REM-HSG) was developed by the Chair for Management of Renewable Energies in cooperation with the Executive School of the University of St. Gallen. The vision of the chair, headed by Prof. Dr. Rolf Wüstenhagen since its launch in 2009, is that energy markets are \"on the road from 20:80 to 80:20\" until 2050, indicating the increasing share of renewables. The key economic and business-related questions of this transition are investigated in the Chair’s research, teaching and executive education programmes, in close collaboration with partners from industry, government, investors and civil society. The REM-HSG programme is structured into 8 one-week modules, completed part-time over a 14-month period. The first six modules are held in St.Gallen (Switzerland). The 7th module is looking into the management of regulatory risks and taught in Berlin. The 8th and final module takes place in Singapore, where the University operates the St.Gallen Institute for Management in Asia, which gives participants first-hand insights into the emerging growth markets for renewable energy in Asia. The deadline for applications of the next intake starting in January 2013 is on December 15, 2012.
As part of the cooperation between Jacobs University’s Executive MBA in European Utility Management and the Diploma of Advanced Studies in Renewable Energy Management of the University of St.Gallen, the alumni organisations of the two programmes will be combined. This marks a cornerstone for the creation of a unique network of European experts and professionals in the energy field.
