Carpevigo AG successfully connects another solar power plant to the grid

- Capacity of 2.6 Megawatt (MWp)

Holzkirchen - Carpevigo AG, an international photovoltaic system integrator and operator of solar power plants, has completed the construction of another solar power plant in Bavaria, Germany. The power plant, which is located in the district of Straubing-Bogen in Lower Bavaria, was connected to the grid on schedule before the turn of the year. The power plant is expected to generate app. 2,789 MWh/a of electricity.

The solar power plant is located on a 6 ha area at the edge of the Bavarian Forest Nature Park. The topography of the area is hilly, which sets higher demands to the development and the construction. The power plant has a capacity of 2,560 kWp. The annual electricity generation of the plant corresponds to the power consumption of about 700 typical 4-people households.

Funding partner of the project with an investment volume of app. 10 m. Euro is Deutsche Bank. \"In project financing we benefit from the fact that we financed our first solar power plants completely with equity,\" explains Jens F. Neureuther, CEO of Carpevigo AG. \"Even in our ongoing projects in Italy and Czech Republic we work with a solid share of equity. This makes us confident regarding all our projects in 2010.\"

Regarding the plant technology Carpevigo AG applies a uniform technical design to all its solar power plants. This includes a fixed orientation of the solar panels, a substructure built with steel, and thin-film modules manufactured by First Solar.
