Phoenix Solar subsidiary to build largest PV power plant in Singapore

- 181 kWp on the new Lonza Biologics building
- Largest order to date

Sulzemoos/Singapore - Phoenix Solar Pte Ltd won its largest order to date last week in Singapore. Next year, Phoenix Solar AG’s subsidiary will plan and build a photovoltaic power plant with a peak output of 181 kilowatt for the Swiss biotech company Lonza Biologics Tuas Pte Ltd (Lonza).

Upon its completion, the Lonza Biologics building, which is currently under construction, will house Lonza’s second largest production facility. "The decision to invest in renewable energy in this new building is part of our environmental stewardship. We selected Phoenix Solar for their strong industry experience, professionalism and reputation for quality," said Stephen Keane of Lonza.

The power plant with a peak output of 181 kW will be installed on the roof of the southwest wing of the new Lonza building. Phoenix Solar is responsible for the planning and turnkey completion of the plant. Moreover, the system will include real-time performance monitoring, an energy output display unit and remote internet monitoring.

"We are proud to have been chosen to realise this ground breaking project for Lonza. Upon its completion in June of next year, the power plant will be the largest photovoltaic system in Singapore. This project will serve as a benchmark that will pave the way for future developments", commented Christophe Inglin, Managing Director of Phoenix Solar in Singapore.

Phoenix Solar completed a special type of flagship project last weekend on the roof of the Singapore FreePort Sky Lounge in Singapore’s Fullerton Hotel: It built a temporary solar PV canopy for around 200 VIP guests who watched the three-day Formula 1 event from the hotel’s roof terrace. The canopy will now be taken down and donated to a government organisation. It will then be reassembled and used for training purposes.
