M+W Zander to design and build Thin-Film Solar Module Factory - Location of the project is "Solar Valley", Thalheim, Germany

Stuttgart (Germany) - The engineering company M+W Zander has been awarded the general contract for the design and construction of a solar module factory for an affiliate of Q-Cells AG. The new manufacturing facility located in "Solar Valley", Thalheim (Germany), will have a production capacity of 90 Megawatt (MWp) and will be used to produce solar modules based on a thinfilm technology. This type of technology is characterized by a very high degree of efficiency. The factory complex includes the production building, storage facilities, central utility building and office building. The first modules will be ready for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2009.
