PRÜFTECHNIK at the Husum Wind 2012, Booth 2B01: Wind power plants thrive on qualified personnel

- The international license for vibration experts

Ismaning/Husum - Even the best Condition Monitoring systems in the wind power industry depend on expert support. The Germanische Lloyd (GL) recognized this need in 2003 and introduced certification procedures for monitoring centers. Yet the number of organizations that have gone through the certification process for monitoring centers continues to be limited.

Experience has shown that the wind power industry is a sector that requires a high level of expertise in vibration analysis and machine dynamics, both among employees at the monitoring center and among vibration specialists. Vibration specialists from the wind power sector and employees at the monitoring centers should, for example, have an understanding of “resampling” to be able to properly and efficiently monitor wind power plants and diagnose the conditions.

For the last five years, PRÜFTECHNIK Condition Monitoring has been offering a training program for certification of vibration analysts according to ISO Standard 18436-2. The training program is executed both at a national and international level in German and English.
The training course includes a large number of interactive simulators and conveys extensive knowledge in an attractive way. A written final examination is held at the end of the seminar. The examination consists of questions that vary with the particular category and are compliant with the ISO Standard.

It goes without saying that employees at the Prüftechnik Monitoring Center are certified at least to ISO Cat. I and diagnosis specialists own the certification ISO Cat. II or ISO Cat. III. The Prüftechnik Monitoring Center was recently recertified by the GL. The certification is valid for another five years until mid-2017. Prüftechnik thus meets the highest standards in providing expert support for the wind power sector.
