WEMAG and e.n.o. energy aim at long-term cooperation

Rostock - e.n.o. energy GmbH and the Mecklenburgean energy supplier WEMAG AG agreed basically on a delivery of turnkey wind farms with a total capacity of up to 60 megawatt within the next three years. The wind farms will, as far as possible, comprise of wind turbines of the type e.n.o. 82 and e.n.o. 92.

The regional energy supply company WEMAG AG plans to expand its business field renewable energies further and to invest significant funds into wind energy use over the next years. The cooperation of both companies contributes to achieving WEMAG‘s strategic goal to establish significant own generation capacities based on renewable energies. As the first concrete project, the purchase of nine e.n.o. 82 and three e.n.o. 92 in Western Mecklenburg has been negotiated. The wind turbines will be installed in the first half-year 2011.

e.n.o. energy GmbH has been successfully operating in the high-growth wind power market for more than ten years now. The company covers the entire wind power value chain, ranging from planning and erecting turnkey wind farms either for sale or for proprietary operation, to maintenance and operations management services, to proprietary wind power plant productions. This concept, quite unique in Germany, enables e.n.o. energy to offer all-round solutions not only to municipal investors. The company is also able to perform all individual services involved, such as developing projects, acting as general contractor for the complete farm installation process or separately supplying wind power plants to project developers.

WEMAG AG, with its headquarters in Schwerin, is a Germany-wide operating energy supplier with regional roots and current grid operation in Mecklenburg und the Western Prignitz region. It is in charge of 14,000 kilometers of power supply line, ranging from household supply to overland power lines. Private and business customers purchase current, gas and grid connection services from the energy company. Regional solidarity, environmental protection and sustainability are important topics for WEMAG AG. Thus, the company delivers TÜV-certified green electricity from renewable sources to all households, but also to customers with special contracts from all industrial sectors and the rural economy. Since January 2009, the municipalities related to the supply territory are the major shareholders of the WEMAG AG.
